Introduction

The University of Cape Coast School of Business library welcomes you to its outstanding information resources for teaching, learning, and research. The library forms part of the Sam Jonah Library, University of Cape Coast Library System (SJLSUCC) and can be accessed online for peer-reviewed literature, e-books as well as bibliographic data for print resources.

Location: The School of Business Library is located at the ground floor of the School of Business Building Complex, North Campus of the University.

Library Collection

The subject scope of the School of Business Library collection reflects the courses and programmes being offered in the School.  The Library has a wide range of collection in Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Entrepreneurship, Organization and Human Resources Management, Operations and Management Information Systems, Public Administration and Health Services Management. 

Other allied subject areas covered are Economics, Statistics and Social Psychology.  Every effort is made to acquire all Ghana Government publications and others on Ghana with special reference to Management and Public Administration.

To position the library to contribute to the academic and scholarly excellence of the School of Business by providing world class information resources, facilities and innovative services that will advance teaching, learning and research that  support the School of Business to be the Best Business School in Africa

 Objectives of the Library

The basic objectives of School of Business Library are:

1. To help the School to acquire, organize, preserve, and disseminate business books, periodicals and other business-related materials that support effective teaching, learning, research, and other outreach programmes in realization of the School’s vision.
2. To provide the physical facilities and equipment to enhance the effective use of the library resources in the school.

LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

Library clients are expected to conform to certain standards of conduct so that they do not interfere with the use, enjoyment, comfort or convenience of the Library by others. The following rules shall be observed by all users of the Library:

1. silence must be observed in the Library.
2. smoking is not permitted in the Library.
3. users must dress decently and behave in a manner that will not be offensive to other Library users.
4. no food, drinks and fruits shall be brought into the Library.
5. users mobile phones must be switched off or kept silent while in the Library.
6. users should treat Library materials, equipment and facilities with care and report any defect or damage to the Library staff.
7. the Library shall not be responsible for the safe keeping and any loss/damages of belongings left in the Library premises.
8. no person in/using the Library shall behave in a manner which is offensive to or unduly inconvenience other Library users or which causes or is likely to cause damage to any Library material or Library facility.
9. on demand by a member of the Library staff, any person leaving the Library shall present for inspection at the Library exit any materials, bags or receptacles being removed from the Library.
10. no person shall vacate his/her seat for more than fifteen minute or may reserve a seat for a colleague.
     

    Library Users

    The Library is opened to all School of Business Students, Academic Staff, and other members of the University Community. Other members of the public who wish to use the facility should obtain permission from the School of Business Librarian.
